Looking for an energetic coach with a strong lacrosse background who wants to teach and mentor young athletes. In addition to a thorough knowledge of lacrosse, skill development, and coaching techniques; candidates should have a demonstrated ability to lead young athletes. In particular, we are looking for a candidate that is positive minded and encouraging. Someone that can serve as a role model for high school players and who demonstrates the qualities we would want our players to emulate.
Start Date: Jan 2020 for thebeginning of the spring season - ends May 2020. (and if available, a few days in December 2019 TBD)
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous lacrosse coaching experience
Previous college lacrosse playing experience
Complete knowledge and understanding of the rules of the game
Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to develop and maintain positive, respectful relationships with student-athletes.
Strong leadership presence and presentation skills to motivate high school student-athletes.
Skilled in positive training and instructing Lacrosse
Strong commitment to Student Athletes and their academic demands
Act as a positive role model in all settings and foster an environment of respect, tolerance, integrity and responsibility
Help maintain high standards of sportsmanship and fair play in all facets of the athletic program
To exemplify a sense of professionalism at all times and especiallyat games with opponents and officials
Remain aware of all legal liabilities related to all athletic activities and ensure a safe environment for all athletes
Ability to successfully communicate with student-athletes, other coaches, officials, parents and members of the club's board
Positively represent The Woodlandscommunity and provide appropriate supervision at all times
Be on time to all required coaching responsibilities
Manage game day logistics- lineups, substitutions, strategy
Development and implement daily practice plans.
Extended game responsibilities dependent on schedule.
